Help is needed to support the ongoing work of the Westbury Community Project (WCP).
The charity runs a community centre just off Eden Vale, which hosts a community fridge, a food bank, a youth club, and a range of health and community activities.
WCP is managed by a board of trustees, and the group is currently looking for new trustees and volunteers to join them.
Ian Cunningham, Trustee and Chair of WCP, said, “Trustees are expected to attend board meetings — typically four to six times a year — review documents including reports and policies, ensure compliance with charity law and our objectives, and make strategic decisions about the centre’s operations.
“Relevant professional skills, such as legal, financial, architectural/building, HR, business or IT, are especially useful.”
New volunteers are also welcome to join WCP to help ensure its vital work continues.
Ian added, “Tasks may include opening and closing, organising community events, showing visitors around, cleaning, gardening, managing social media, assisting with café and catering, maintenance (such as painting and decorating), setting up for clients, managing bookings, and ensuring the centre is secure.”
