A Safe outdoor space for hosting community events has been created at the Westbury Community Project (WCP) with the installation of a new fence surrounding the grass area.
The WCP team plans to utilise the space for future outdoor events, including inflatable theme park days, while also enhancing child safeguarding during activities at the project.
The WCP was created in the town’s former youth centre building to provide a base for groups and activities for all ages.
Development manager Kevin Down, said, “Events can now be done safely without the worry of a child either being hit by a car or getting lost at an event held by the WCP. When it comes to safeguarding, we take it very seriously. We are trying to do good for the local area and keep the kids safe at any future events we hold.”
The fence, which was completed last month and designed so it has no blind corners, has been funded by Selwood Housing and local solicitors Pinniger Finch & Co.
