WESTBURY Golf Club played a seniors match away at Wincanton where they suffered a 4-2 reverse.
The club reports, “Our winners were Steve Turner/Mick Maughan and Neil Simpson/Mike Frowde.We also had a mixed friendly against Broome Manor where we only managed a half point thanks to Clive Sturgess and Pauline Jones.
“In the Open competitions there were wins for Farren Drury in the August Medal and Dean Webb in the White Horse Shield.
“The Seniors held a new competition namely the Captains Cup with a Pairs Format and it proved highly successful with Tony Doman and Mac.McCourt coming out on top with a Stableford score of 46 points, winning on countback from Steve Killops and Mick Maughan.
The August round of the Celia Dowell competition was won by Ann Poolman and the runner-up was Gill Sawyer.
The midweek medal was won by yours truly and the runner up was Gill Sawyer. The mixed Texas Scramble was won by the team of Tina James, Brian Ingram and Richard Foot. The runners up were Margaret Adams, Steve Killops and Dave Cameron. The postponed Medal 5 played on Saturday was won by Pat B ell and the runner up was Pauline Jones.
