During September, Westbury Golf Club had three home friendly seniors’ matches.
The club say, “The first was against Cannington, which resulted in a convincing 5-1 win for Westbury. Our winning pairs were R.Foot/G.Henderson,J.Boniface/D.Gilbert,P.Mould/B.Jamieson,N.Simpson/B.Clark and C.Booth/R.Poolman.
“This was not a good day for the Captain as both Colin Booth and Neil Simpson qualified for a bottle of wine.
“In the second match we entertained Folke and we came away with a 3 and a half to 2 and a half win. The successful pairs were B.Clark/R.Heard,G.Brown/B.Jamieson and M.Stone/ W.Drewitt
“In the third, Minchinhampton came out on top with a 3 and a half to 2 and a half win. Our winners were D.Gilbert/B.Jamieson and D.Kidd/R.Poolman.The September Medal was won by Rodney Poolman with a nett 66 winning by one shot from Michael Maughan.”
“September’s round of the Celia Dowell competition was won by Marilyn Bonniface and the runner up was Tina James.
“The Pat Barton Trophy was won by Tina James and the runner up was Ann Poolman. Saturday’s Medal was won by Fiona Belson, Pauline Jones was second on a count back from Margaret Adams.”
