WESTBURY Ladies Rugby Club celebrated last weekend as they beat Chipping Sodbury to claim the top spot in the South West North 2 division.
On Sunday 24th March, Westbury ladies made the short trip to Chipping Sodbury for their last game of the season, knowing that a win would secure their place as league champions ahead of second position, Bath Ladies 2nds. With the weather very much on the ladies’ side, a near-perfect day for rugby, they ended the 70 minutes scoring 59-5 against a hard-fought Chipping Sodbury side.
The club says, “A special mention to hooker Lucy Harper who during the match scored her first try, to the delight of the crowds. Also, coach Jack Bates who is stepping down to make way for a new coach.”
