WESTBURY Ladies Rugby Club made it through to the semi finals of North Dorset 7s tournament.
They started the tournament in high spirits winning their first game 12-10 against North Dorset Beavers; unfortunately they saw a loss in their second game.
The Ladies were not disheartened after facing the well-experienced West Country Cavaliers, as an excellent performance by the Ladies was led by Captain, Lana Plummer, running the length of the pitch to secure two tries.
Through to the Quarter-finals against Portsmouth, the girls found themselves 12-0 down, however, determination saw the Ladies comeback to win 24-19.
After this superb play, the Ladies were through to the semi-finals facing hard opposition in the form of the Dragons Invitation 7s – the eventual resounding winners of the tournament. This was unfortunately the end of the Ladies tournament.
Credit must go to the Ladies as they battled and defended their line until the final whistle. With a great pre-season performance, the team and supporters are looking forward to the season ahead.
