The presidency of Westbury Lions Club has been handed to Jarvis Macdonald.
Jarvis, a member of the club for four years and last year’s vice-president, took over from Nigel Coward this month and will be the head of the club for the next 12 months.
Jarvis said, “I’m very pleased to have been put forward by the gang and am proud to be the club president. The club is a lot of fun and there are a great mix of people here. 2014 was a record-breaking year for our fundraising and I’m very much looking forward to building on that success.
“Westbury is currently one of the biggest Lions clubs in the south west and we get a feeling that by the end of the year it could be one of the biggest in the country. I’ve never held a position like this in a voluntary organisation before; I’ve been used to being a bit of a joker on the sideline at the club, so I’m looking forward to taking a more serious role.”
