Westbury Lions Club and Trowbridge Area Board have been helping Larkrise Community Farm to expand their work.
The farm, which works with young people with learning and other disabilities, has recently joined forces with Riding for the Disabled (RDA) to provide an ‘all weather’ facility at their West Ashton road site.
Westbury Lions, working with other local Lions Clubs, made grants totalling £1,000 and cllr Horace Prickett, as Vice-chair of Trowbridge Area Board, was able with two other area boards, to make grants exceeding £4,300 available for the work.
This was added to grants from the RDA and other groups thus ensuring that full funding is in place for the work. This is due for completion in the spring and would ensure that whatever the weather the RDA can carry on with its work enhancing the lives of the youth of the community.
