Once again the West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group is holding its annual Model Railway Show on Saturday 7th November at the Paragon Hall, Westbury.
Show organiser Rod Towler said, “The show covers a wide range of model railway and associated modelling subjects to interest everyone, no matter what the level of their skill.
“There will be a large 0 gauge test track for visitors to the show to run their locomotives and stock. A vintage Hornby 0 gauge and Hornby Dublo layouts, showing train sets of the 1940s and 50s. Of local interest is a GWR branch line layout, and a display of fine 0 gauge models, together with demonstrations of building garden railways and fine scale 0 gauge stock.
“In 00 scale there will be a layout depicting Sydney Gardens in Bath during the latter half of the twentieth century. Dovington Camp depicts a military railway in the 1990s. Coming right up to date, The Python Branch is operated from mobile phones. Devil’s Bridge in North West Wales is a beautifully detailed layout in 009 scale.
“Further modelling demonstrations of weathering and white metal soldering will be at the show. There will be six traders selling railway items for modellers. On the stage will be a Scalextric layout where invited visitors can drive the cars.”
The show runs from 10am-4.30pm and tickets cost £4.50 adults, £3.50 concessions, £2 children and £10 for a family ticket. There will be light refreshments and a raffle, with the prize donated by The Gas Cupboard Model Shop in Trowbridge.
