THE second round of matches for Westbury Junior Netball Clubs U14’s, captained by Millie Brisdon, was held on Sunday 8th December.
Westbury first played Calne who are tough opponents. The game started at a fast pace which took Westbury by surprise, and by half time the score stood at 3-2 to Calne. Changes to the side in both attack and defence made a turn-around in the game, giving Westbury a solid win of 8-5
The second match was against Wessex Blades. Again, Westbury were caught napping in the opening minutes but they soon pulled together and from the second quarter, held a comfortable lead throughout the match, finally winning 9-4.
Opponents choice of Man-of-the-match were Mercy Gitangu-ogborn and Katherine Mills respectively, but manager Jess Brisdon gave the overall Man-of-the-match to Megan McGregor for outstanding play in all of her positions played on the day.
