Residents are being invited to help decorate post boxes across Westbury as part of a new community Christmas trail designed to bring festive cheer to the town.
The Westbury Yarn Bombers, a local knitting and crochet group, is organising the Christmas Post Box Trail, asking volunteers to create individual toppers to decorate post boxes throughout the town.
Ten post boxes have been claimed by volunteers so far and the group hopes this will continue to grow in the coming months.
The decorated boxes will form a trail for families and residents to explore over the festive season.
Westbury Yarn Bombers founder, Marisa Befoh, said, “For me, it is about creating something as a community that people can enjoy. If it works well, hopefully it can become something we build on year after year, with themes growing bigger and better as our volunteers gain confidence and more people decide to take part.”
Organisers encourage anyone who is interested in taking part to get in touch via email at Westburyyarnbombers@gmail.com, through the Nextdoor app or via Facebook. Volunteers must provide the location and identification number of the postbox they would like to yarn bomb.
