Westbury hosted Frome II on Saturday 23rd November looking to continue their strong home form.
The home side started strongly dominating the set piece and territory. Westbury twice came close to scoring when James Wild was held up over the line on both occasions. They then had another fantastic attacking opportunity but unfortunately the ball was kicked away when five metres from the line. Westbury’s common problem then resurfaced when they switched off and Frome crossed the line following a tapped penalty to take a 5 -0 lead. The remainder of the game was very close with neither team taking control and the score remained 5-0 on what was a very unstructured performance from Westbury, who did not use their dominant forward pack to unleash their dangerous wide men.
The few positives that can be taken from the game was the way the line out functioned and some dangerous runs from winger Simon Rose.
