During last month the Rotary Club of Westbury has been busy raising money for local good causes and charities.
Vice-president Sue Ezra, said, “We held the 2nd Annual Town Quiz evening at the Laverton in late October in which we had 13 teams competing. The winners were The Loins Club of Westbury and we wish to thank all those who help make it a very enjoyable evening.
“We would like to give a very special thanks to our sponsors Dentons who also entered a team and Trevor Dolman of Westbury Pottery for making the commemorative plates for the prize winners.”
Rotary followed that event with their International Cuisine Evening again at the Laverton where over 80 people attended. They had a taster menu of various Mediterranean dishes, a choice of various starters, main and sweets. The cooks were from Trowbridge College, the Inner Wheel, Lillie and Julian. A great time was had by all those who were there.
Next, Rotary participated in the Westbury Street Fayre and Christmas Lights Switch On event. They ran a stall again to raise money for local charities and good causes. Over the last three events, Rotary has raised over £1,002
