LOCAL radio station The Breeze will continue to broadcast to the area, after an unsuccessful attempt by Spire FM to obtain the local licence.
The Breeze currently covers Frome and West Wiltshire (including Westbury) on 107.5FM.
Spire FM, which currently serves Salisbury and the surrounding areas, had submitted a rival bid when the licence came up for renewal. However, independent regulator Ofcom has decided to grant the licence for a seven year period to The Breeze.
Spire FM says, “Obviously the team is disappointed, but Spire FM will continue to go from strength to strength in South Wiltshire and West Hampshire.”
