Sat. 6th. August. West of England Wiltshire Division. Westbury 87/all out. Trowbridge 91/1. Trowbridge won by 9 wickets.
WESTBURY and District Cricket Club entertained local rivals Trowbridge in the latest West of England League Wiltshire Division, hoping for a win that will pull them further away from the league bottom team Devizes.
Westbury made one change from the defeat against Corsham, with James Clack coming in for James Mawson.
Westbury won the toss and decided to bat first.
Westbury made a really bad start by losing nine wickets for the loss of 58 runs and it was only due to Faizal Faizey (12) and Richard Oakley (11*) that Westbury reached 87 all out in the 34th over. Ethan Wilkens (9-1-25-5) had the best figures, ably supported by Tom Lloyd (10-2-26-3) and Harry Robbins (7.5-2-17-2).
When Trowbridge batted, they made a flying start due to Jake Hudd and Jordyn Pretorius, but when they reached 50, Westbury struck by having Pretorious leg before wicket off the bowling of the Westbury captain Richard Oakley for 22, and it was left to Jake Hudd (46*) and Sam Julyan (13*) to take the visitors Trowbridge to a convincing win by nine 9 wickets.
Westbury team: Richard Mills, James Clack, Daniel Gill, Dylan Hulett, Aidan Wicks (wkt), Kane Scorr, Luke Dilena, Steve Clare, Faizal Faizey, Andy Carroll, Richard Oakley (capt).
