Westbury suffered a disastrous last five minutes as Chippenham came from behind to win a match which lacked any real quality!
There was no sign of what was to come as United dominated the 1st half and led 1-0 at the break thanks to a fine goal on 20 minutes; Charlie Walton and Wayne Wheeler combined to set up Nathan Hallett who produced a fine finish from just inside the box. Other chances fell to Joe Murray, Nathan Hallett (whose fierce strike hit the post) and Wheeler who forced Martin Mitchell to make a save. At the other end Alex Shaftoe did well to save when Mark Robinson shot towards goal before Dan Price put his free header wide at the resulting corner.
The visitors gradually took control during the 2nd half and Westbury failed to create any chances until Joe Murray headed wide at a corner with seven minutes remaining. Before that opportunity United had been fortunate to hold onto their lead as Shaftoe again denied Robinson and Mark Nolan created a few chances for himself by beating defender Ally Bradley but failed to find the target with either effort.
Murray’s miss proved costly as Chippenham drew level on 87 when Robinson took advantage of Shaftoe’s error to fire into an unguarded net then, with time running out, Robinson again got the better of Shaftoe and finished from an acute angle for the winning goal!
