Westbury are still searching for their first point after conceding goals straight after half time for the fourth match in a row! As with last week against Chard, they led at the break only to throw away the advantage within minutes!
Captain Gary Tugwell gave United an early lead from the penalty spot after Nathan Hallett had been fouled by Jon O’Donovan.
In searing heat, play was tight for the remainder of the opening half and the score remained 1-0 at the break. Chances did come however with home keeper Charlie Heydon saving from Robbie Whyte and Otis Young denied by Matt Tilley in a one-on-one situation at the other end.
Devizes striker Robbie Mitchell netted twice within 5 minutes of the restart, firstly with a close range header and then rounding Charlie Heydon to put his side ahead after good play by Jamie Walters.
The excellent Tom Slater and Mitchell went close to extending Town’s advantage, while Matt Friendship and Mark Young were off target at the other end as United searched for an equaliser.
Set up by Slater, Glynn Rowles netted the decisive goal at the end of a great move on 86 before Brett Partner’s superb 25 yarder gave United hope in stoppage time, however they were unable to force another opportunity.
