After weeks of planning, Westbury Town Council in partnership with English Heritage, Natural England, Westbury Rotary Club and Westbury Rugby Football Club, has announced that the cleaning of the Westbury White Horse is planned to take place this weekend.
Volunteers have stepped forward to take on the challenge, along with much-needed sponsorship and help from Idverde and Hire Standards, both are local companies based on the White Horse Trading Estate.
Volunteers attended a briefing at The Laverton, on Saturday 16th June, where they saw a presentation of the planned event over the two days, followed by an allocation of tasks and schedules.
This news will be greatly received by members of the town, who have recently commented on the condition of the iconic landmark of Westbury, some saying it is in the worst state they have ever seen.
There are still opportunities available to sponsor, or help with the cleaning. Contact the council on info@westburytowncouncil .gov.uk for more information.
