2018 has been the first full calendar year running for Westbury Youth Club and during that year, they ran a session every Wednesday during term- time.
Beth, leader of Westbury Youth Club reports, “We have been lucky enough to receive a huge amount of support from local companies, companies further afield and a few famous faces. They have all helped us raise money for the club during our various fundraising events, which include the fundraising night in April, up to our most recent event.
“We celebrated our first successful year of running in September and we are going from strength to strength. We have taken our members on two trips to Brookerswood, we have visited Funways in Warminster on four occasions and held a pool party at Frome leisure centre – all as extra activities to the club. We have of course had parties for our first birthday, Halloween and most recently of course Christmas.
“We have sadly seen some much-loved and valued volunteers leave us and had some new join with some old returning. They all have been and continue to be amazing and are the anchor to the club and its success.
“During this year we have set up our own committee and have a team of volunteers that make this happen. As part of that committee we have two junior leaders who are club members, who allow the members to have a voice.
“We have seen members come go and return and we would like to thank them for making the club what it is.
“Due to demand, we had a waiting list. We are delighted to say that this will no longer be in place from January, as we are changing to run on a Thursday evening in the larger hall at Leigh Park Community Centre.”
