AFTER being out of action due to the pandemic, town councillors have agreed that the town’s public toilets should be re-opened.
At last night’s town council meeting, the decision was taken despite some councillors querying why they should be re-opened now, at the start of the nation’s second period of lockdown. However, since essential shops such as chemists, butchers, post office and supermarkets will still be open for business from Thursday, it was felt that shoppers had waited long enough for town toilet facilities.
Both toilet blocks, in Westbury High Street and Warminster Road, will be open, with the contractors, idverde, being asked to carry out two cleaning sessions each day.
