WILTSHIRE High Sheriff, William Wyldbore-Smith, recently enjoyed a wartime-themed meal at Dilton Marsh Primary School.
Year six pupils Oliver, Phoebe, Thea, and Louis cooked a 1940s meal of cheese and potato pie, followed by bread and butter pudding, and ate it with their guest.
The Wiltshire High Sheriff also enjoyed a tour of the school.
The office of High Sheriff dates back to Saxon times. The High Sheriff is the Queen’s representative in the county for matters of law and order and the judiciary, and also is concerned with the work of many charitable and voluntary organisations.
