WORK by a brother and sister from Westbury has been used to illustrate this year’s guide for the Bristol to Weymouth Train Line.
Katie and Daniel Ware, 11 and 9, created some really impressive artwork when they travelled on the Weymouth Wizard and were asked to produce a brochure on their experiences. This was to say thank you to Westbury Lions and GWR for arranging a family trip to the coast on board the Weymouth Wizard.
Westbury Lions co-ordinator Horace Prickett was so impressed with the youngsters’ work he sent the images to the railway company.
Horace Prickett said, “It was really rewarding to receive such an illustrated account of the Weymouth Wizard trip and I was delighted to see their handiwork used in this year’s line guide. The outing last year was such a success that Westbury Lions hope to repeat the outing on July 8th. This year.”
The Heart of Wessex Line’s Weymouth Wizard runs every Saturday until September 10, stopping at Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge and Westbury. Pensioners with a bus pass can travel on the train with a 34% reduction in the fare by purchasing a ticket at the station booking office.
