WESTBURY Youth Club spent the bank holiday weekend taking part in outdoor activities at Brokerswood.
Beth Mullins Watts, deputy leader of Westbury Youth Club reports, “We took the youth club to Brokerswood and did wall climbing, canoeing and problem solving. We charged the members just £5 to attend, as the rest was covered by our grant from the area board from last year.
“We couldn’t have asked for better weather, the instructors were outstanding and all the members worked well together. Most of the members jumped in the lake at the end to cool down, but they had fun at the same time. The instructors commented on how well behaved and polite the young people were and we couldn’t be prouder of them. They have already asked to go back.
“We are all volunteers and give up our time, but to see the young people enjoying themselves working together, and having such lovely comments made about the club, makes it all worth while.”
Westbury Youth Club is held on Wednesdays during term-time from 6pm–8pm for youngsters from 11 – 18 years. Fees are £1 per week. For details email westburyyouthclub@gmail.com
