Youth football tournaments taking place in Westbury this summer

THERE are two youth football tournaments for the next generation of football stars in the local area to enjoy this summer – Westbury United’s tournament in May and Westbury Youth FC’s tournament in June.

Westbury United is hosting its first-ever youth football tournament from 24th to 26th May at Platinum Hyundai Park that will feature players from under sevens to under 18s.

Westbury United say, “This will be our first-ever tournament as a club, and we’re extremely excited! The tournament will be played on the first team pitch at Platinum Hyundai Park (Meadow Lane) with morning and afternoon sessions. We look forward to welcoming you.”

Westbury Youth FC’s tournament is returning to the town for the first time since 2019 from 21st June to 23rd June and will feature boys’ and girls’ teams from U7s to U15s competing against one another.

Westbury Youth FC say, “Every year a lot of Westbury boys and girls travel from town to town playing in tournaments but some have never experienced their own. A tournament will help the club so much as it will attract further interest from our town and encourage more kids to come and play and hopefully encourage more parents/football enthusiasts to step up and help coach.

“The ladies’ game is growing rapidly and as a club we want to facilitate the desire for girls’ football. We hope to host eight girl age groups and a women’s tournament as well. We would love to be able to have up to 20 teams per age group across both the boys/girls and women’s tournament.”
