WESTBURY Area Board have awarded Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service £5,000 to run its Salamander Project in Westbury.
Salamander is a tailored development programme designed to promote empowerment in a positive environment, whilst also encouraging team work and the supporting of others.
The primary aim of Salamander is to work with young people in Wiltshire and provide them with experiences that will help them to learn new life skills and gain confidence.
Jan Bowra, locality youth facilitator for Westbury said, “Congratulations to the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service who were awarded £5,000 at the Westbury Area Board.
“The funds will go towards engaging with the young people in the Westbury community area through a very well known and admired project, providing positive opportunities.
“The funds were awarded after a unanimous decision by the members of Westbury Area Board and on the recommendation of the Local Youth Network management group.
“Well done to all those who made this possible!”
