Westbury and District French Twinning Association will be celebrating their 20th anniversary of twinning between Westbury and Château du Loir in 2020. This time, it is the Westbury group’s turn to go to France where they will be staying with French families.
The group reports, “At the moment, we have space on the coach for more people. These exchanges are enjoyed by everyone, the French people are very welcoming with lots of good food and fun, even though some of us do not speak the language.
“We will be travelling by coach and ferry on the 15th of April and returning on the 20th April, so if you are interested in joining us please contact Jean on 01373 864935 or jeandew@icloud.com
“Château du Loir is situated in the Sarthe region between Le Mans and Tours and is very similar to Westbury. They have an important railway junction connecting Le Mans and Tours, it is in a beautiful rural area, and is about the same size as Westbury.
“The town does not have a château and is not on the Loir, but there are lots of interesting places close by to visit and the Châteaux of the Loire (with an e) are only an hour away.”
