RESIDENTS of Chapmanslade have expressed their disappointment after thieves stole fencing and a picnic table from the play area in the Memorial Playing Field.
The incident occurred overnight between Friday 8th December and Saturday 9th December. The fence panels that were taken left nails exposed, posing a risk to children using the play area. It is believed that the culprits used a hand saw to remove the sections of the fence.
“What a callous and evil act. I hope the culprits are found and brought to justice,” said former parish chairman Phil Jefferson
The incident was reported to the police. A spokesman from Wiltshire Police said, “The incident took place at some point between 6pm on 8th December and 7.30am on 9th December.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101.”
