WESTBURY locals, Beverley and Dale Vincent, from the Iles and Vincent Funeral Services team in Warminster, were joined by members of 24 Hour Fitness gym to raise money at the New Forest Water Park for a children’s charity.
To celebrate Bev’s birthday and raise money for the Teddies for Loving care appeal, the group visited the water park to take on the challenge on Sunday 30th September. They donned their wetsuits and faced the cold water and the huge inflatable park complete with trampolines, slides, hurdles, an overhang climbing wall and a giant iceberg.
This was the latest fundraising event that Iles and Vincent/24 Hour Fitness have taken on to raise more money for the charity which raises funds to supply A&E units with teddy bears and cuddly toys for children in severe distress. The aim is to try and alleviate the stress for children and sometimes to assist the staff in their work.
Beverley said, “The water was freezing, and it was harder than you would think, but it was good fun and an honour to be able to raise more money for this amazing charity!”
The duo, Beverley and Dale, are now booked to do the Evans Cycles Wiltshire Road Sportive on Sunday 21st October, a 36-mile bike ride around Chippenham and Lacock and there are various other fundraising plans on the horizon for 2019.
