Westbury Youth Club paints a successful 2022 with even more fun planned for 2023

WESTBURY and Warminster Youth Club organisers say that they have had a successful year following a range of well-attended sessions, and they have already started organising more fun events for this year!

Leader of the club Beth Mullins, said, “2022 has seen Westbury Youth Club work with over 70 young people at one or more of our weekly sessions. Last year we have seen 28-35 young people attend each week with 50 regular members who come at least once a month.

“Our highlight of the year would have to be the free graffiti day where the young people of Westbury came together with the help of professional artist Tom Miller and resprayed and redesigned the multi-use games area (MUGA) in Grassacres Park despite the rain.

“We are excited to be looking forward the year ahead when we have already secured a grant to run a free cooking course every Saturday morning from Saturday 18th February through until Saturday 25th March and we will also be holding other free graffiti events on Saturday 29th April and Monday 1st May where we will be again working with Tom Miller but this time to respray the skate ramps in Penleigh Park.

“Westbury Youth Club would like to thank Wiltshire Community Foundation and Westbury Area Board for their funding this year as well as Westbury Town Council and Morrisons for their continued support. We would like to thank the board staff and volunteers but most of all thank the young people of Westbury as without them 2022 wouldn’t have been the success it was.”

Westbury Youth Club runs every Wednesday during term time, 6-7:30pm at Westbury Community Project on Eden Vale Road for 11–19-year-olds and up to 25 with learning disabilities.
