The Edington Music Festival returns in August for its 70th year, with a week-long programme of choral services and performances at the Priory Church.
This year’s festival starts on Sunday 17th August and ends on Sunday 24th August.
Organisers say, “The theme chosen by director Robert Quinney to mark the occasion is ‘The Ways of the Lord’, exploring, by reference to physical journeys in both the Old and New Testaments, the ways by which one finds the way to the Lord.
“Music, which will be sung in the daily services, will include Mozart’s Missa brevis in F, Wood’s St Mark Passion, Howells’ Collegium Regale Te Deum, Perotin’s Viderunt omnes, Eleanor Daly’s Upon Your Heart, and several works by anniversary composers, including Palestrina and Gibbons.”
Entry to the services is generally free, but tickets are available for ‘A Musical Evening and Supper’ on Wednesday 20th August at 6.30pm. Tickets for this event are £32.50.
