A team of engineers from Arla Dairy in Westbury completed a 60km walk in one day in aid of the Movember charity, which supports men’s health.
The challenge aimed to raise money and awareness for men’s mental health and prostate cancer.
“The challenge for Movember was to walk 60km over the month of November to raise funds for men’s charities, including those supporting mental health and prostate cancer,” said Paul Adams, engineering shift team leader.
“With sixty men per hour worldwide tragically lost to suicide, the team chose to honour those lives by not only growing moustaches but also completing a 60-kilometre walk in a single day – one kilometre for every man lost each hour.”
Team ‘Movenger’ set off from Arla Dairy at 5am on Sunday 16th November. They walked to Bath and back, covering 60.334km (37.49 miles) in just over ten hours. Two other members of the team completed the walk over three days.
So far, the team has raised over £2,000 for the cause.
“It certainly was challenging!” said Paul. “We all feel very passionate about these causes and are incredibly grateful for the support we received.”
