WESTBURY United enjoyed a winning start to pre-season with consecutive 2-1 home wins versus Sturminster Newton and Bridgwater United.
On Saturday 4th July versus Sturminster Newton, new signing Leighton Thomas and Rayane Hamdia netted either side of an equaliser for the visitors. Thomas also had a penalty saved.
Then on Tuesday 7th July Bridgwater United provided stern opposition.
In a game full of chances for both sides, Dan Restorick netted early on for Westbury, and Thomas was unlucky when his shot hit the post and ended up in the keeper’s hands.
Will Taylor netted from close range to double the lead before a defensive mix up allowed Hayden Chambers to score.
United then visited Llantwit Major over the border in Wales on Saturday 11th July, going down to a 1-0 defeat.
The White Horse Men return to Meadow Lane versus Bradford Town on Tuesday 14th July as White Horse News goes to press before visiting Warminster Town on Friday 17th July with a 7.30pm kick off.
Home ties against Chippenham Town on Tuesday 21st July and Winchester City on Saturday 25th July wrap up the pre-season.
