A WESTBURY woman braved the shave for charity this month and raised over £400 for a good cause!
Michelle Bateman, who is registered blind, raised £462 for Cancer Research UK when she cut off her shoulder-length hair at the Cutting Bar in Frome last month.
Her friend/carer, Richard Dredge said, “Michelle would like to say a huge thank you to all who sponsored her! The money is going to a good cause so thank you for your generosity.
“A big thank you to the receptionists at the White Horse Health Centre, Dara at Shaunaks Pharmacy, her neighbour Tom as well as her friends; Christine, Carole, George, Helen, Donna, Shania, Joe, Richard, and Beas.”
Michelle has said previously that she decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK after both her parents died from forms of cancer at an early age. Michelle is known locally for her many fundraising efforts in the past, such as donating to Crosspoint, making Christmas shoe boxes for disadvantaged children and charity events such as this one.
