WESTBURY welcomes back a post office to the town with the new High Street post office now open, located in McColl’s retail store.
An official opening and community celebration is being held at the new branch this Friday 29th March at 10.30am. Local MP, Dr Andrew Murrison MP and Westbury Mayor cllr Ian Cunningham will ‘cut the ribbon’.
The post office has been open for business since Friday 15th March. The new post office opening hours are Monday to Saturday: 6am – 8pm; Sunday: 7am – 8pm, making it very convenient for customers to visit.
The previous branch was in the Co-op store in Kingfisher Drive, which closed ‘temporarily’ in October 2017 before the store became Lidl.
Post Office services are offered from a low-screened post office counter, integrated into the retail counter, enabling customers to carry out a wide range of Post Office transactions alongside retail purchases.
Chief operating officer for McColl’s Retail Group, Dave Thomas said, “We are delighted to be welcoming customers to Westbury Post Office, which will offer a wide range of Post Office services alongside our extensive retail offer. As a convenience store operator, we are always looking for ways to make life easier for our customers and the additional Post Office services will be available for the full opening hours of the store, in order to provide an excellent service for the local community.”
Adam Williams, Post Office multiples account executive said, “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to this area. We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best.”
