Corsley Festival Choir is honouring the Queen with a celebration concert to be held at St. Margaret’s Church, Corsley on Sunday 8th May at 7.30pm.
The choir will be accompanied by four excellent soloists from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire, and will also be accompanied by an 18-strong Corsley Festival Orchestra and local organist, Gerry Hoddinott. The conductor and choir master is Stephen Smith.
The first half of the concert features Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Zadok the Priest. The second half will be on a Last Night of the Proms theme, starting off with the ever popular Dambusters March by the orchestra, and finishing with Jerusalem, Rule Britannia, Land of Hope and Glory and Benjamin Britten’s arrangement of the National Anthem.
The choir is expecting a packed church for this patriotic celebration evening. The church will be decorated with bunting and there will be Union Jack flags for those attending!
Pimms and soft drinks will be available at the bar in the barn adjoining the church from 7.00pm. Tickets are £12.50 (children £5) from choir members or phone 01373 836866.
