ALDI has submitted an application to extend planning permission for a new supermarket in Warminster Road.
Planning permission for the store at the Oval Motors site was originally granted in 2007 and highways considerations were agreed with Wiltshire County Council in a revised plan in January 2009. However, nothing has happened at the site since then.The new application does not propose any changes to the site layout, proposed access, and car parking, or the building’s size and form, which are the same as the original planning application. Westbury Town Council has considered the latest application and say they support it, on the understanding “that it is fully conditioned as per the original application.” The White Horse News contacted Aldi to find out more about their intentions for the site, but the supermarket did not want to make any comment, saying they will communicate details when they are confirmed.
