THE White Horse Festival was hailed a big success by organisers, who praised the ‘fantastic’ bands and strong turnout in spite of the bad weather.
Around 700 people visited the White Horse Country Park on the bank holiday weekend for a day of family entertainment and live music.
Organiser Hannah Bowden said, “We were very pleased that the event went well and that it was so busy despite the weather!
“We moved where the festival was sited this year and it seemed to work really well; people liked the more ‘festival’ feel it had.
“It was disappointing about the weather as some of the children’s entertainment had to be cancelled, but the bits that did happen were fab. Dave Stockley in particular with his children’s ‘get in golf’ had a great attendance despite the drizzly conditions.
“The bands were fantastic and a big thank you to John Holcombe who suggested and booked such a fab line up for us. The highlights of the day were local band Peaky Blinders, who set the pace for the evening and the Leggomen finished with a headline set to remember.
“We hope to run the event again next year and extend a massive thank you for all the local support.”
