A public consultation is being held over plans for a development of approximately 145 homes on land at Glenmore Farm, Westbury.
The proposed development site covers an area of approximately 23.9 acres to the north-west of Westbury, on land at Glenmore Farm, bordered by Hawkeridge Road to the east, The Ham to the south and West Wilts Trading Estate to the north.
The consultation runs until Friday 25th July and will give local people the chance to shape the scheme by providing feedback.
Plans for the 145 homes come after outline planning permission was given in March for another 220 homes for the site off The Mead near Trowbridge Road whilst 300 homes near Bitham Park are currently being considered by Wiltshire Council.
A spokesperson for the Glenmore Farm site developers Taylor Wimpey said, “All comments received during the consultation period will be taken into account as we finalise our proposals ahead of a planning application being submitted to Wiltshire Council in the near future. Our plans include a percentage of affordable housing, together with public open spaces, including a community play area, landscaping and new planting.
“Access to the development would be via two junctions with Hawkeridge Road. The main route through the development is orientated to give motorists views to public open space in one direction and the Westbury White Horse in the other.
“The development site is located within Flood Zone 1, which means it is at the lowest possible risk of flooding from rivers and other watercourses. Drainage areas would be located to the north and north-west of the site.
“Our proposals include the retention and maintenance of existing trees and hedgerows where possible, as well as additional tree and hedgerow planting on the development boundary. Our scheme also includes several public open spaces, including a community play area to the north of the development.
“A number of contributions to the local community will be made as part of our proposed development. These contributions are yet to be finalised and will be allocated by the local authority in accordance with local need.”
