JOIN Westbury in The Great British Spring Clean 2018 to help get rid of unsightly litter ready to enjoy the sunshine.
In Wiltshire more than 4,000 volunteers have taken part in Clean for The Queen and Great British Spring Clean events. Over 200 litter picks have taken place and 31 tonnes of litter have been collected.
Wiltshire Council will once again be supporting the Great British Spring Clean in 2018 and is calling on communities to get involved by organising a litter pick during the weekend of 2nd, 3rd and 4th March.
Westbury community engagement manager, Liam Cripps said, “It’s that time of year again when the days become noticeably longer and there is a hint of spring in the air. It’s also time to start thinking about getting involved in the Great British Spring Clean.
“This has become an annual event for many communities, when they spruce up their area and get rid of unsightly litter, ready to enjoy the hoped-for sunshine. Please get in touch with me Liam.Cripps@wiltshire.gov.uk for a registration form.
“The town and many parishes now have their own set of litter picking equipment for you to use as part of their regular clean-up events. If you are a group undertaking this for the first time, or you don’t have any equipment, I may be able to lend you some. But act soon as I will need registration forms by Thursday 15th February.
“Let’s make your place a better place to live, work, play and visit.”
