AFTER it was vandalised last December, the listed telephone box in the Market Place has been fixed.
Last year the Town Council adopted the K6 red kiosk phone box and the TIG/Tourism working group asked residents for ideas to convert it into something that can be of use to the community.
The telephone box has been earmarked to be transformed into an art exhibition. However, it was targeted in December by vandals, pushing back a potential opening date.
Town clerk, Deborah Urch said, “The three broken glass panes in the listed telephone box have been replaced. The art display will be placed in the telephone box early summer. We would ask people to look after this little piece of history and report any vandalism to 101 and the town council.”
