MORRISONS in Westbury recently donated £390 to the local food bank following the success of their Christmas giving tree in December.
Customers could pick up a bauble from a tree in the store over the Christmas period worth £1, £2 or £5 to donate to a local food bank or community group. The charity of choice in Westbury was the Westbury Area Network (WAN) which runs the town’s food bank and community fridge.
A spokesperson for WAN said, “If it wasn’t for the continued and fantastic support of supermarkets such as this, the food bank would really struggle. Thank you very much!”
The store regularly donates food items to the food bank and, in December alone, Westbury Morrisons donated £1,800 worth of products to the food bank. Search for Westbury Morrisons Community Champion to stay up-to-date with the fundraising activities at the local supermarket.
