A WESTBURY man is appealing to local businesses to donate to a fundraiser for a friend’s MS treatment.
Mike Storey, a member of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes and director of Autocade Motor Services, is raising money for a local woman suffering from multiple sclerosis.
Leanda Alatoum is in her early 30s, has six children and was recently diagnosed with MS, which causes severe nerve damage, and is now raising money to travel for stem cell treatment to fight the disease.
Mike said, “I cannot say thank you enough to you very kind Westbury neighbours who have already popped into Excel Hairdressers in the High Street and made a donation. To those who have not had a chance yet; what’s stopping you? Giving is good for the soul, I promise you will feel good!
“Now I want to address ‘the Boss’ – whether that is a club, pub or business in Westbury. As a director myself of a local company, I know we are keen to help where we can and give a little back to the community in which we trade.
“I invite you to do the same by making a donation to Leanda’s appeal and help to give her hope for a better future.
“I will, if you wish, provide you with a signed photograph of Leanda for your notice board, so you will get some publicity and earn the admiration of the staff and customers alike.
“To make a donation please send it to Mrs Moth, Excel Hairdressers, High Street, Westbury. You will make a difference. I thank you in anticipation.”
Leanda has so far raised over £15,000 of her £30,000 target.
