BRATTON Primary School is celebrating its 95th anniversary on Monday 17th April and as part of this, the school has released photos of the school from the 1930s that haven’t been seen for many years.
The school will hold a special school assembly to look through the images, and they are in the process of putting together a new website where there will be a school history page.
The school says, “To help with this task, one of our lovely volunteers, Mr Pearce, managed to locate these lovely historical photos of the school for us to use on the page. Mr Pearce, who has been working on behalf of the Bratton History Association, has also very kindly donated his time to catalogue all the school’s historical archives; these are a mixture of previously unseen documents that were recently discovered hidden in an old school cupboard, and haven’t seen the light of day for many years!
“The cataloguing will certainly make things easier for future generations of Bratton Primary School to access and enjoy. It felt like a trip back in time with letters, maps, and other various documents which gave a picture of life at Bratton Primary School in the 1950s-1970s. We also highly recommend visiting the Bratton History Association website for further historical gems about our lovely village!”
