A year-long community project has brought pupils and local residents together to design and create a new banner at a village primary school.
A local craft group worked with children from Dilton Marsh CofE Primary School to create the display for the school hall.
A team of local people, led by Kelly and Neil Lewis, Lynne Vercoe and Penny Hill, worked for almost a year on the banner celebrating the school’s vision and values.
“What makes this joint project extra special are the bees, which were created by children at sewing club earlier this year,” said Headteacher Jude Clements. “Each bee reflects one of our schsool values: belong, encourage, endure and serve.
“We are truly delighted with this bespoke banner and are grateful to the local community and the children who have contributed to bringing our school vision to life at Dilton.”
Materials for the project were funded by a grant from the Bishop Wordsworth Education Trust, which supports schools in the Diocese of Salisbury.
