THE Dilton Marsh Carnival Committee is inviting the community to join them for Christmas carols on the village green next week.
The event, which will be accompanied by Warminster Brass Band, will be held on Wednesday 22nd December, from 7.30pm on the village green at Stormore, Dilton Marsh.
The carnival committee says, “It’s a well-established event in the village, which many say is the start to their Christmas celebrations. It was not possible to hold this event in 2020 due to government restrictions – nor in 2019 due to the atrocious weather. We are hoping to go ahead this year, but much depends on further government advice; we are very conscious that people need to be cautious.
“Carol sheets will be provided and there will be mulled wine and mince pies – and maybe a visit from a very special guest, if we’re lucky!
“If the event does go ahead, those coming should wrap up appropriately according to the weather, wearing fluorescent clothing if possible – and bring a torch. They need to be very careful when near the road as it will be dark, and they may not be easily visible to passing motorists.
“If we need to cancel due to the weather or government advice, a message will be posted on Facebook.
“We wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year.”
