STAFF and pupils at Bratton Primary School marked Anti-Bullying Week, which took place from Monday 13th November to Friday 17th November slightly differently this year, as they wore odd socks as a way to express individuality.
The school says, “Odd Socks Day marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week but most importantly, the day is designed to be fun!
“It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique whilst spreading kindness. All you had to do to take part was wear odd socks to school, and the children and staff at Bratton Primary School have certainly raised to the challenge by wearing their brightest odd socks!
“The theme of this year’s anti-bullying week is ‘Make a Noise about Bullying’. During the week we aimed to provide pupils with a clear understanding of the definition of bullying. We also discussed with pupils the different ways in which they can ‘make a noise about bullying’ in school and why this is important.
“Much of our teaching at Bratton Primary School during anti-bullying week explored caring friendships and how to support our friends when they are worried or upset, including how to report concerns and ‘make a noise’.”
