A community hall that has brought people together for more than 100 years has welcomed a new kitchen.
Dilton Memorial Hall’s kitchen has been refurbished following funding from the National Lottery, providing improved facilities for the community space.
The hall hosts a wide range of activities, from toddler groups, yoga and Pilates to table tennis, singing, craft sessions and the Women’s Institute. It also provides a venue for coffee mornings, lunches and other community events.
The refurbishment includes a new layout, improved storage and vinyl flooring.
Committee member Kathy Hutt said, “The old kitchen was tired and dated. We were delighted with the professional approach of the companies that did the work. We were also very pleased that many of the old units were able to be saved and used in other parts of the hall creating more storage.
“The hall is very busy, with a wide range of events and activities and the kitchen facilities are widely used by the local community whose feedback has been extremely positive.”
The refurbished kitchen will be in use at the hall’s Big Breakfast on Saturday 14th November.
