A charity golf day organised by a Westbury women at Cumberwell Park last month raised £2,500 for the British Heart Foundation.
Linda Penney has been raising money for the charity since her husband suffered a heart attack in 2009 and was rushed to hospital.
Linda said, “It was with the help and support from the British Heart Foundation and an amazing surgeon that we got through that difficult time. Without their support, I wouldn’t have my husband with me today.”
This year’s event was struck with heavy rain but it didn’t deter the golfers from supporting the event. “It was a great success,” continued Linda. “We had one team Tailormade Technologies from Andover who played in my first golf day in 2005 attend and was lovely to be supported by them.
“Thank you to Gooding Accounts, Westbury and R Williams Decorating and Renovations, who sponsored the event.
“The two items in the auction raising the most amounts were the Manchester United football, and the signed Peter Gabriel boxset. I would like to thank Man Utd and the lovely Peter Gabriel for these fantastic auction lots.
“I have already booked the course for next year’s event on the 1st July and look forward to seeing old and new faces for that event.”
