Chilli Fest returns this month

There’s not long to go until the return of the Wiltshire Chilli Fest, which promises to be ‘hotter than ever!’ Coming to Westbury’s High Street on Saturday 21st September, this festival has something for everyone.

There will be a return of popular festival favourites including the chilli eating competition, performances by the popular Jamma de Samba and circus workshops along with live music, street food and children’s entertainment.

Ryan Child, events manager for Westbury Town Council, said, “The festival will showcase a variety of chilli products from all over the UK. Expect to find everything from the mildest bell peppers to the fiercest ghost peppers, many grown in the UK with love and care. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover new flavours and take home some spicy souvenirs.

“The infamous Westbury Chilli Competition serves up pain, suffering and good old family entertainment every year. If you’re mad enough to enter get to the Hot Pods stall and put your name on Stephen’s hallowed paper as early as you can as it’s first come first serve! Best of You Pottery is delivering the skull prizes this year.

“Indulge in a culinary adventure with a diverse range of street food options. Savour the authentic taste of Mexico with A Huevo’s tantalising tacos or treat yourself to some comfort food with LJ Hugs’ hearty offerings. For those who love a good BBQ, Hickory Henry will not disappoint. There’s a flavour for every palate!

“No festival is complete without a well-stocked bar, and the Wiltshire Chilli Fest delivers. Quench your thirst with a variety of beverages while you enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. And for the little ones (and the young at heart), there are circus workshops where you can learn new tricks and have a blast.

“The festival will be buzzing with live music from local and national bands. Get ready to dance to the upbeat tunes of Mariachi Wey, groove with The Shingalings, and feel the rhythm with Jamma de Samba’s march. Plus, students from Matravers School will be showcasing their talents, adding to the festival’s community spirit.

“Whether you’re aiming to be crowned the ultimate Chilli champion or just there to enjoy the festivities, the Wiltshire Chilli Fest is the place to be. Don’t miss out on the fun – see you there!”
