Christmas is almost upon us once again!
This year has been an exceptionally busy one for myself and the Mayoress, my wife. We have attended over 60 functions so far, meeting people from all walks of life both old and young alike.
It has been a privilege to serve the town of Westbury and to meet so many of you during the year, and we look forward to the remaining time I have as Mayor of Westbury, listening to your views and sharing some of your experiences.
I would like also to offer my gratitude and thanks to the staff of Westbury Town Council and fellow councillors who have given me great support during the year, and a special thanks to our town clerk, Keith Harvey who, as usual goes the extra mile to see our town runs as well as it can. I shall be sorry to see him go next year when he retires and, of course, we wish him well when that time comes.
As we reach this time of festive cheer please give a thought to those not as fortunate as others. There are a lot of lonely, needy people among us and this is a good time for us to offer a helping hand and in some way play ‘Santa’ to someone out there.
My wife and I look forward to being among you during the next few weeks and we wish all in Westbury a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
Cllr. David G E Bradshaw
Mayor of Westbury
